Longer Lakshmi Puja messages for cards and close family
Every Lakshmi Puja I remember Dadi polishing old silver coins and lining them up in the thali as if they were family heirlooms, because they were. She taught us that what you bring into a home matters less than how you look after it. I hope your evening is full of that same care and quiet joy. Happy Lakshmi Puja to you and your family.
WhatsAppTo my husband: you climbed the ladder for the lights, ran to the market twice for marigolds and still made it on time for the puja. Our home glows tonight because of everything you quietly do. Wishing us both a year as bright as this evening.
WhatsAppDear partners and customers, as we close one set of books and open another, we want to thank you for standing with us through the year. Your trust is the real foundation of our business. May this festival bring light to your homes and steady growth to your work.
WhatsAppDear friend, the diyas are lit and the house smells of ghee and incense, but it feels a little empty without your loud laughter. Wishing you a peaceful puja and a year of good news. Let's meet for the leftover sweets before they disappear.

About Lakshmi Puja
Lakshmi Puja is the main evening ritual of Diwali and is performed on the new moon night of the festival. In many homes, families clean and decorate the house, draw rangoli at the entrance, light rows of diyas and perform the puja after sunset with sweets, flowers, coins and new account books placed in the thali.
For traders and business families, especially in Gujarat and Maharashtra, the day marks the start of a new financial year, and the worship of fresh account books is known as Chopda Pujan in Gujarat. In Maharashtra the day is called Lakshmi Pujan and is one of the key days of the Diwali week, along with Narak Chaturdashi and Padwa.
In Bengal, Odisha and Assam, a separate Kojagari Lakshmi Puja is held on the full moon night after Durga Puja, and Diwali night there is usually marked with Kali Puja.
Tips for sending your wishes
- Send your wishes in the afternoon or early evening, because many families are busy once the puja muhurat begins.
- For business contacts, a line about new account books or the new financial year feels more fitting than a general Diwali forward.
- If the family is Marathi speaking, a short line like 'लक्ष्मीपूजनाच्या हार्दिक शुभेच्छा' is a thoughtful touch.
